This piece is about the supernatural narrative of the Lakota Buffalo Woman, but its also referring to the transitions of culture from a life of liberty and freedom, to the reservation; from a visual record of major yearly events (winter count), to one of remembrance on ledger paper. This piece is also one of the first large scale works in my Modern Mythologies series. -Chris Pappan
